讀到一句話，難以理解：
Babies of two months old do not appear to be reluctant to enter the water.
It is not long before they are so accustomed to swimming that they can pick up weights from the floor of the pool.
原書的參考譯文如下：
兩個月的嬰兒并末顯得不愿意入水。
他們很快便適應了游泳，以致能撿起池底的物品。 //他們很快便適應了游泳？？？

關鍵點就是這句：“pick up weights from the floor of the pool”
It is not long before they are so accustomed to swimming that they can pick up weights from the floor of the pool.
依俺的理解，原文中老外想說的意思應該是這樣：
只是很短時間，在孩子們適應學會游泳之前，他們就能撿起池底的物品。

they can pick up weights from the floor of the pool
直譯：他們可以把他們的體重從池底提上來

俺也被蒙了一回，書中原譯文的確是對的。
It is not long before //一般都譯成：不久就
